gc2300 homemade filter,skid,fan guards

I like the fan guard. Having busted all the blades off my fan once, I don't want to do it again. Replacing the fan was pretty easy, but I had to lift the rear of the floor pan a couple of inches to get clearance. Now that the cab is on, that process just got a whole lot more difficult.
Any chance you can draw up a pattern for the fan guard? Or just another picture of your template with dimensions?
We had some up-armored D9 dozers in Iraq. Your tractor is starting to look tougher than that!

I went out and took some pics and measurements for you this morning hope it helps.I can say this seeing that I built my own filter guard mine gonna be different then factory one.My advice would be for you too make a mock up one out of cardboard [I use cereal boxes] and make it to fit yours out of cardboard first then you can lay the template onto the steel plate draw it out cut out and bend and fit.:thumbsup:Larry

Ouch! Yes, Larry's plans are looking better all the time. Larry, do you have a plasma cutter-- is that how you cut out the pieces? (I don't have one of those...)

Sawsall, or carbide wheels work well on thick metal.

When I made my backhoe bucket, I was able to cut the whole thing up in minutes, using a hand held gas powered concrete saw.

Resurrecting and old post to say THANK YOU Larry.

Took the measurements and used them to make a guard for my GC2300. My oil filter had a dent in it and it was time for some protection. It was not to hard to make up. Pardon my example does not look as nice as Larrys' but it will get the job done.
