I am new to this forum. I have a John Deere x595 and when mowing my deck shuts off unexpectantly by itself. It seems like it needs too cool a few minutes and it will restart. but the time it stays engaged decreases each time unless I let it set for a extended time. I have put a new PTO switch on the dash but it didn't help. Is something over heating? Thanks in advance for any help.

:welcome:
And this isn't related to the RIO switch or the seat switch? Just confirming.
Can't imagine what might be overheating.

What is the history of the tractor/mower? Known problems, new to you, ??

Seat switch and reverse switch have been bypassed. But it was doing this before they were bypassed. 62" deck 430 hours on the tractor.

As I recall, I had one a few years ago, and the PTO would kick out for no reason it seemed. I found out with mine, the I had to clean the screen before the radiator, because I never cleaned that. I didn't even know it was there for a long time.

Then also, I had to loosen the hydraulic oil cooler located before the radiator and clean that out and also clean the radiator. It was plugged pretty bad and the tractor would overheat and kick out the PTO.

After that, it ran like new and now I check those things quite often.

I agree ^^^^^ sounds like your machine is overheating.

What does your temp gauge read when it happens?

Thanks everyone for the responses. The temp gauge was on the upper half of the green (hot side). I did clean the screen, radiator, and cooler. It did have alot of debris between the cooler and radiator. I mowed today and it didn't shut off once, where it probably shut off 10+ times. I believe we have this resolved.
Thanks again!

It is nice to know that there is a safety system in place to prevent damage from overheating. I have been attentive to the screens for the cooling, but I have no gauge for temperature. (Only the warning light.)
