Hey piston, I've not only got a grapple too but also a mastiff. Hope your mastiff is doing better. Just put a dog bed in the grapple and carry her/him around.

Figured I'd post a pic while on the slow ride up the street.

My mastiff had ACL surgery a couple months ago and I can finally remove this ugly ramp from my front door! I picked it up with the flat bottom of the grapple and didn't even need to close the upper jaws. Bringing it up to the brush pile for burning. It's a tight squeeze at 14' wide but no cars coming...yet.

Thanks for the note. He is doing good recovering from his surgery, takes a while though. I've actually lost count of how many surgeries he's had, I think he was a lemon or something! Our other mastiff has barely had any issues thank god.

Stan, your right, I couldn't get by anymore without a grapple! Nice 7040 you have there! I like the way they look with the cab.

I don't have any action shots but this first one is after I put her up for the day with the beginning of my last burn pile in the background. The second shot was sent to me by the previous owner when I was looking to buy.
This Versatech grapple had moved untold tons of Katrina debris before I got it.

started thinking about getting some firewood in - and my sister mentioned they had just taken out some trees for a new driveway.. so i said i'll be right over.. I was thinking some 6-12 " diameter pieces - it's the first time I couldn't completely close the grapple on single pieces of wood...firewood 2013 001.JPG firewood load 2 2013 009.jpgfirewood load 2 2013 010.jpgI think the log splitter is about to get a workout- I know the tractor/grapple did (green ,heavy wood)..firewood load 2 2013 008.jpgfirewood 2013 007.jpg gotta love FREE firewood:thumbsup:

Nice score! And nice trailer...

I took my grapple off the tractor the other day, looks kinda funny with a bucket on it  I almost never use the bucket anymore.

The problem, concrete around a broken wood post.

The solution, the Gorilla Grapple and the V417:

The new problem, a big hole in the pasture:

The solution, the stump bucket also hauls dirt:

Pack it down, no problem :D:

thanks the trailer has been very handy lately... actually picked up another load the same day- and have1 or 2 more to go.

I agree about not removing the grapple for the regular bucket as often- many jobs can be accomplished with a grapple, as of late- if I absolutely need a regular bucket I fire up the old Ford 3000 (since the loader and or bucket don't come off easily anyway)..

The grapple came in handy for cleaning out the horse stalls and breaking thru the (build up) in the run outs then using the gannon box blade and loader bucket on the 3000 to move material out to a pile and leave a nice smooth down hill drainage from the barn..... Starting to be a true believer in having at least 2 tractors for some jobs..

Come to think of it a 20 to 28 hp 4x4 tractor would also be really handy for (in the barn ) work..:licking: The boss would veto that plan:D

I have had this grapple add-on for months and decided, it's time to get it working. The plumbing will be my biggest challenge.
