This is the year for Stihl for me I guess. Started out with a chainsaw. I have spent some time on arboristsite.com and did my research on smaller mid size saws. I settled on the MS260 Pro with a 20" and 16" bar (trying both semichisel and full chisel chains). Outstanding saw if anyone is looking in this size. Pricey but weighs less than the MS290 Farm Boss and starts MUCH easier (hard the FarmBoss for the 7 day trial period and returned it for the MS260 Pro).

NExt up was a trimmer/brushcutter. For the money the FS250 was my solution. Picked it up this morning with 3 different metal blades (chisel circular saw, diamond shaped grass, and circular brush blade) and the line trimmer head. I chose the bike handle version. All I can say is WOW! This thing is down right fun! I like it alot. USed it for 5 hours today alone. It is a beast. With it I will be able to reclaim the side of my pond.

My plan is to clear up the pond sides and then get in and take out some of the trees. I am loosing some water due to teh root system in my clay.

Anyway really really nice Orange tools from a Green tractor guy.

I think I am going to make a nice carrying platform for brushcutter and saw he cary all to use the tractor to transport them.

I love stihl as well. I have a BR-400 blower and an FS-74 weed eater. Both I have had for 14 years with no trouble, they are stihl as good as the day I got em. I got a farm boss chain saw recently and an HL-75-K shrub trimmer. Stihl is money well spent.

I've had my 025 chain saw for 13 years and my FS85 trimmer for the last 6 years. I've never had a problem with either.

The oil jets get stopped up and have to be cleaned in order for the bar oil to flow, I have my screw set wide open to help keep the pulp flushed out. The only thing I can figure is running out of bar oil or not keeping the jets clean. Most of the time when a high quality unit gives problems its the operator not being attentive. You can over heat the chain and dull it in no time when no bar oil is flowing. Keeping the chain adjusted throughout the time using it is important and when you are through using the saw you should loosten the chain (assuming you kept it properly adjusted) so when it cools and shrinks it want warp the power head. perhaps you will have better luck with a $99.00 special.

i cut with a 066 mag. on the underside of the saw there is a oiler screw turn it for maximum flow. maybe this will help you out.
