Hauling tractor with a car trailer?-007.jpgI dont have pictures of my ramps but they are all 2x2x1/4 angle and I dont have a problem with them bending or bowing. 4000 # should be like loading a tinkertoy on a trailer with 7000# and up gross weight. The only problem I have with loading is that it picks up the rear of the truck when loading if you dont block up the trailer which I dont do, just continue to drive up the ramps and it eventually comes to earth but ramps dont bow and this tractor weighs in excess of 8500#. My only complaint is that when loading the B26TLB the back hoe drags a bit so the ramps could be a bit longer.

CK20 with backhoe and front end loader weighs in at 4000 lbs. But you are probably thinking what makes that different than a car. The difference is the entire weight of the tractor is solely on the ramp as it has a much shorter wheel base then most cars that only usually accomodate one axle at a time unless maybe it gets compared with a YUGO. The trailer gross rating is 7000 lbs. and is adequate for the tractor.
All 4 tires of your tractor can fit on the ramps at one time ?, doesn't 'look' that short/long.

    My ramps are the same.

I would block it up. There have been a few guys get killed or seriously injured doing what you do. The rear tires come up and now PARK and the parking brake are worthless. One guy on this site banged up his tractor, trailer, and F250 doing just this. He ended up with only a broken arm.

    Be careful.

That's true...I put my previous 8N with FEL and loaded tires on a car trailer to take to the new house and once the front tires made it to the deck, my truck lifted off the ground and moved 2' sideways...Thankfully it was on level ground and no damage happened...I blocked the trailer after that.

My TLB manages to drag a bit also but I made some wood plates that space the bottom of the ramp up 3" lowering the angle. That took care of the drag. So far as lifting the front of the truck I always try and prevent that by slipping in a couple of jack stands beneath rear frame of trailer and I even chock the front of tires to keep from pushing the rig ahead as I load the trailer.

now I see why his ramps bend. I wouldn't load anything latrger than a scut or rider mower with them.

I use heavy 2" angle for most of my ramps.. my '3rd' ramp for my trikes is 3" angle, as it gets a huge portion of the tractor weight till the rears get to the other ramps

i think that wood block arangement will be dangerous. at least the way it is mocked up.

solid timber cribbing.. maybee.. beter ramps.. deffinately.

my life is worth way to much to use 'just barely-maybee' ramps loading LARGE pieces of iron...
