Just don't cut it off so short the fumes come back in your face. Or could it off, but an extension on it then add the rain cap.

I think coffee can is the tool of choice here, though metal coffee cans probably won't be around too much longer and I don't think a plastic one would be a wise choice.

I never imagined it took so much thought to cut an exhaust pipe and add a cover. Attaching a three point plow must take the better part of a day.

I was originally going to say coat hanger but I decided to take up up a notch.
