Re: Hydraulic Filter hard to get off!
I too had a real fun time trying to get the 1st oil filter off the DK-40. I used a plastic handle rubber belt type strap wrench but as many have found it is real close and hard to get any leverage or torque on the filter. Dealer told me they bake them on when they paint the engine, which is why they come off so hard.
Sometimes a regular type oil wrench with a piece of sandpaper against the filter will work to add traction to the grip.
I think I'll add what GRSthegreat showed to my toolbox. Like you said- doesn't look to impressive, but if it works then it works- hate to get in too close and do damage to a hand, etc. Bigger bar, 1/2 ratchet, that sounds persuasive.2010 DK-40se/hst, Kioti KL-401 FEL, loaded tires, KB-2485 bhoe, Tuffline TB160 boxblade, Woods QA forks, MIE Hydraulic bhoe thumb, Igland 4001 winch, & GR-20 Log Grapple.
