Box Scraper Lots of questions on attachments for 1533 or 1538

Ok so here's the dilemma I face lol, I'm in the market for a new tractor and decided on Mahindra, I looked at NH, Kubota and JD and I found for the price and hydrolic power, in my area the Mahindra came out on top. So in about a week I will sign papers on one but.....

They offer a $1000 rebate incentive if you get three attachments for the tractor, I really only wanted 2 but we threw in a 6ft 3 pt grader blade to get the last $500 for the 3rd, blade was like $490 so was basically free. The other attachments I selected was the pallet forks and the land leveler, the guy talked me into the land leveler from the box blade, he said for what I need it for I would be better off with the land leveler. Much faster ext (sales talk more expensive attachment lol)

So question 1. Is the Mahindra land leveler better than a box blade on gravel driveways and light dirt work?

2. What size attachments should I be after? I was thinking 6ft blade and land leveler since the tractor is 63" wide.

I haven't really known anyone with a land leveler and I have never used one, my concern is the durability over the box blade, I can lose the ability to push material like a box blade can, I will have a front loader and grader blade. Thanks in advance for your feedback and experience.

1. Yes
A Box Blade takes a long time to learn how to operate satisfactorily. ((Only a Moldboard Plow takes longer to learn.)) A LPGS is mount and go...... A LPGS "refreshes" gravel; Box Blade does not.

2. What is the outside-to-outside width of the tires you will order on the tractor? R1/ag tires are quite a bit narrower than R4/industrial tires.

My one comment: Since you wanted a blox blade and got the scrape blade instead (and a land plane), I am pretty sure there are wings available that attach to the ends of the scrape blade. If you can get a set, or fab your own, you can turn the scrape blade into a poor man's box blade. The wings will allow it to move a fair amount of material. Good luck with the new Mahindra, hope you get lots of great service out of it!

The tires I will be getting are the industrial R4 tires, I don't need Ag tires and have almost thought about turf saver tires.

I only was interested in a box blade to fix gravel driveways, I was told the land leveler was easier and faster so I went that direction. The blade I will prob only use for snow, if I find it's easier than the loader. It was basically free but didn't have a big need for one. My dad actually has a 48" if I really needed one lol.

Just my :2cents:. LPGS is about the best over all implement to maintain a natural surface drive. So you are good there.:thumbsup: Forks are great, allows you to do many many things that you could not do other wise.:thumbsup: The 6' rear blade :thumbsdown:should be a 7 footer to cover your tracks when angled. :thumbsup: I would get the heavy duty unit that Mahindra has available, even with just snow, you don't want to ride up and over the ice and it is nice to have offset and tilt capabilities.

One last thing, did you look at, even consider the 1526?

I personally would not even consider a 1533, it would be either a 1526 or 1538 and most likely a 1526 as long as I was not getting a back hoe.

But that may just be me. Good luck with your decisions.

Sorry, yeah around 62" or 63".
