Has any one purchased the Harbor Freight 3-POINT QUICK HITCH? The item number is 93691-1VGA.

The price is half of other quick hitches and I wonder if the quality is half!

I was about to point you to the quick hitch sold via tractorbynet. Then I followed your link and have to scratch my head.

The picture makes it look very similar to the iMatch sold by John Deere. However, I think your question goes to the heart of the issue. At half the price is it half the value? Sorry I can't answer that question, but it does look similar to the Deere.

I'd sure want to look at it close up before spending any money on it. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Adjustable top hook like the Landpride and the SpeeCo. Weighs 60 pounds, and for the price of $89.99,, appears to be a bargain.
Would be great for moving logs, and pulling while lifting items. Lots of uses other than just attaching 3pt attachments.

Add a few grab hooks for link chain, and a tool box, good to go about anywhere. Build a ballast box for easy attachment, and a carryall for moving things about, or a set of 3pt forks. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I had one, it's simply a Chinese knockoff of the SpeeCo design. Fit and finish was rough, but otherwise it worked just as well as other similar units four times that price. I got rid of it though, for the same reason most folks do; too many implements with non-standard pin spacing.

i have the one sold by homier. same thing as mentioned above. it's a chinese knock off of the expensive ones, but I have to say i love mine and so does my back. i was lucky, all my attachments are the same spacing. instead of the $17 adapters they sell for them i bought cat 1 adapters at tsc for a few bucks and i was off and running. if your fighting with your implements, for $89 it's the way to go. back up, hook up, attach your top link and shaft and adios.

I agree. I've had the quick hitch off only three times since I bought it 4 years ago. Each time for a tiller I rented. Otherwise, all the attachments that were changed to fit if needed, get picked up easily, quickly, and with no fuss or bother. I change 'em back and forth a lot.

For ballast the other day (needed extra to stack pallets of firewood) I set a pallet of firewood on my carryall, then dropped the ballast box, picked up the carryall, and used that weight on the 3pt to balance the remaining 20 pallets of firewood that I stacked two high for two years drying using the forks on the FEL. Worked like a charm. Didn't lose a stick of wood.

If anyone is considering this hitch, it's currently only $69.99 on their site. I just ordered mine. They say it's backordered but, I can wait.
I'll let you know if I like it, when and if it shows up.

I got one. Quality is ok for the price, but you will have to modify it to fit a cat 1. The slots for the lift arms are only 1-1/4" wide and cat 1s require 1-3/8. I called HF and got a discount. I suspect the price will continue downward.

What's shipping going to cost?

To NH it was only $8.99.

Please explain the modification needed.
What has to be cut or ground off from where ?
Does it HAVE TO BE modified, or does the 1/8 inch difference just allow some "slop" or "tolerance" ?

tnx

I'm glad someone started this thread. I've been looking at these on Ebay.... though Harbor Freight is much cheaper. I too have been curious as to the performance of these hitches, and am glad to hear some positive results! I don't mind modifying my implements to match the hitch. I'll be keeping my eye on this, and will probably be ordering one soon. Thanks to everyone for the input !

So I just ordered one. I am going to convert it to JD Quick attach so I can also move 3pt implements with my loader. I have this idea of building a stacking implement storage system. Who knows, for $70 I am not out much if it fails vs JD's $200 price for Imatch!

I will keep the JD Imatch on the rear of the 3320 though! I really do like it!

Sounds slick.
Hope you get some pics posted of the front mount.

I found that this unit is through mail order only. The local franchise HF store doesn't carry it and told me I'd have to order online or by calling. At 89.99 the price sounds good but at 60 lbs. I'd hate to see what shipping from CALIF. to NY would cost.

See my earlier post, I ordered for $69.99 and $8.99 shipping to NH. Of course if it doesn't work or breaks it won't be worth squat. We'll see.

The way I read HF's web page on shipping rates, it depends on what you spend, not what it weighs. $8.99 for items up to $99.99
and I take that to mean to ANYWHERE in the US - except maybe Alaska, Hawaii, various islands, overseas military posts, etc.

A way to sweeten this deal is to apply the following coupon code at check-out: 952-224-420 . It deducts $5.00 for any order over $49.99 and adds 6 pairs of leather work gloves to the order for free. Other coupons codes are at this site: HF_coupons . Hopefully the gloves don't turn out to be the best part of this order.

I like the idea of this adapter. Even with the extendable links on my Kubota it is still a fight sometimes to hook up my bush hog. As to modifying it I have a hydraulic power pack with spreader jaws. I wonder it that would work to open it up enough to fit over the balls in the lower arms?
