Its snowin in Denver and my Simplicity 760 is acting up. Engine is fine. Problem is the crank that turns the directional discharge chute doesn't stay in position. It wants to move back to the left unless its held. The mechanism is a worm screw (gear) on the end of the cable crank that rotates the gear attached to the chute. I like it to crank easy because when I'm battling mother nature, I don't want to fight a stiff crank. Otherwise its a super machine about 15 years old. Has a Tecumsah 8 horse. Any suggestions are welcome. Steve

I have the same problem and althogh it isn,t pretty, have wrapped a bunge cord around the shft several times. If it still moves on you, wrap it some more.
Tighning the clamp bolt doesn't seem to work .It either becomes to tight or loose.
