Hi all,
working on a friends mower that started leaking oil real bad. I found the seals in the oil pump were leaking by running the oil pump with an electric drill. Replaced these seals and now have much smaller slower leak that I can't find. Leaves about a 3" diameter spot on the concrete floor. I have removed the flywheel and cam pulleys, cleaned these areas up reinstalled the cam pulleys and timing belt. Removed the spark plugs and drove the engine for approx 10 minutes with my 1/2" electric drill via a stud in the crank shaft. Drill runs at around 900 - 1000 RPM. I could see no leaks in any of the seals or the oil pump assembly.

Question: Would the lack of compression (blow by) be enough difference to keep a worn or weak seal from leaking? Also would be thicker oil from no engine heat.

Any other suggestions on where to look.

Attached photo of the engine as driven by the drill.
