I opted for a front blade to plow snow (I kinda like the banks of snow)

but know that they need to be pushed back to make room for the next good snow. So I fabbed a wing plow.

Love the wing - I'm wondering if a rear articulating blade like these would give me a similar experience?

I have a three point hitch and pto on the front of my two JD 6430 tractors and it folds up and allows me to use my loader. I modified a new Fisher minute mount plow to fit the hitch and added a top link mount. I also got a rear mount snow blower that I use on the front, it is so nice to use the blower on the front and not have to back up and look out the back all the time. Both implements can be put on or taken off in minutes. Using the 3 point hitch the tractor is pushing directly on the implement not a loader frame. A front 3 point hitch is an investment but in the long run it makes snow removal so much easier and you can always run a mower in the summer.

A few videos of my setup.

That is a pretty epic setup! Wish my machine had a front PTO - looks like a killer feature. Thanks for posting.

Well we've only had a couple of dusting so far here in eastern Canada... waiting on a big one to test my new setup. So far I like it. Better visibility then the Jeep and actually faster despite being smaller... well on light snows. I've also found a couple of things the tracks can do better then tires;

The last time I plowed the snow was pretty wet and clumped

before

after

Also not having a blower I worry about running out of room to put the snow... I know I can ramp up the snow head on with the tracks, but just figured out that I can do it sideways too! This is on my cul-de-sac. My house is in the background.

Can't wait to get a good foot of snow to really try this out!

Those trees are sure planted close to the edge of your drive. But guess you can always cut them down if they become a nuisance.

Big trucks, like delivery trucks, and also fire trucks, EMS trucks, etc. won't push through trees in our area. Scratches the paint.

The plow rig looks like fun. Now to get that good snow to try it out proper. :D

Your road looks similar to the one we have here, steep bank on one side.
Looks like you were having fun, those tracks are really nice.

Heck no I'm not cutting those trees down! I've put alot of effort into them. When I planted them I drove my jeep down the center of the driveway and planted them a shovel length away from it, and separated them by 15 foot lengths LOL. They're maples and I plan to trim them to about 6' up before I let them branch out. I may have to cut every other one if I find that they're too close and harming each other, but I'll let an arborist decide that when the time comes. It'll still be a while. They're about 6 years old now.

Yes the tracks are fun. Went up a snow covered slope the other day I would have never thought possible. Blew me away. :)

Nice tracks! How much are they these days?

Almost ashamed to say... they're the Polaris brand... $5,500 ish. I had to choose between a SXS without tracks, or an ATV with... not sure I made the right choice... time will tell. The thing is I get pretty shack wacky in the winter... so being able to go in the woods regardless of how much snow will be good therapy.

Aawk! Talk about sticker shock! Still, those things are the cats meow. I took an 800 cc Can-Am. for a ride once that have them on, and I could nicely drive through snow that was up to your hips no problem. They are amazing things, and I wish I had them, but unfortunately other priorities intervene. 😢. Enjoy!

Yeah, a big Can Am would have been my first choice, but this 570 was a good deal, and the dealership's the closest.
