<img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=477109"/> Here's my Normand N86 260TR blower with side chute (aka snow laser). I just picked it up last December, and with the El Nino last winter I didn't get to use it much. I tried uploading a video, but I need 5 posts to do it (new guy here). This is post #4, so stay tuned...
looks like a great setup, as hot as it is , talking about some cool weather isn't bad but still don't want to think snow. :(

Welcome to TBN :)

Wow that's pretty cool. I've never even heard of a side chute blower...!

Ya, it has a rotating drum that runs on one of my hydraulic remotes. I pull the lever, and the drum turns to the chute, or to either side, where it just blasts it straight out. Great for wet snow.

Why is it more effective by bypassing the chute?

The chute can back up in heavy snow but by rotating the drum to the side, the snow blasts straight out without any resistance whatsoever. The side chutes also fire the snow much further away from the road, so if you get 6+ feet of snow regularly like we do, it doesn't pile up halfway up the power poles.

I noticed in the description of your video you talked about the video being taken with a surveillance camera. Could you start a thread and link it from here about you system pros and cons. The picture looked great. I'm interested as I'm am starting to have trouble with thieves.

I buy cheap Foscam cameras off Amazon (Amazon.com: foscam outdoor: Electronics), hard wire them into my network (Wifi sucks for cameras), and control them using Blue Iris software (Blue Iris - Video Security Software), also very cheap. I'm running 4 cameras here and I don't notice any drain on network resources at all. Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

Got some new sneakers for the truck! 235s. Can't wait to see how they do! I was impressed by the truck last year, and these tires are twice what was on it.
