ok ..so.. just like buying a car or house , your first weekend is usually spend evaluating your perches..

and thats what i did with my t5c , relocated her to my shop so i would have real tools available ..

projects.

1. remove muffler weld in an end cap for mine was missing , last owner use two standard bolts on the header , and of coarse they broke , i was able to weld a nut on what was left on one of the studs
and get the torches out , make the head cherry red and back out the bad bolt .

the other stud .. ummm ...yeah... not so much .. grinder, drill, six different bits .. and a tap.. ugh..

2. carb , fuel leak , running bad..

new fuel line, fuel filter , plugs, oil change(found lose motor mount bolt ready to fall out ) , oil filter, air filter ,
still leaking .. bowl on bottom of carb ... removed carb , cleaned, bowl was on crooked , gasket still good . dissemble ,clean , reassemble with the bowl sitting on the gasket the right way . sealer .

reinstalled carb , set to factory setting as per kohler manual , still runs rough , starts with in one or two turn overs, idles good , coughs on the way to working rpm then smooths out , dose fine driving , but when running the claw it starts a fit , coughs and some black smoke , i think the main jet is still rich , but i have no way to check rpm , so i'll play with it later at least i can drive it ..
(sunday update ..big carb problems , more later )

3. hydraulic fluid change .. removed filter( stock filter ! ! ) and return hose from sump tank , was able to pick up sump and tilt to remove as much as possible..
side note , got a good look at my parking brake doing this , i wish i had all those parts of the time of fluid change : /
got a good look at all the tractors pumps, everything looks good, and stock , all the bolts are accounted for , no broken ears, no mods , no leaks ,
filled new filter and installed , filled sump , napa premium 15w40 5 gallons . fluid level gauge dose not work (ether dose fuel gauge ) reads 1/4 tank..

4. went over all electric connections , larger ones took apart cleaned re-tighten and treated with dielectric grease ..

5.added a steering column support , wheel was a little wobbly

sunday .went in to play with the hoe , or so i thought .. went to start it , not even one turn over it sounded like it locked up..
checked the battery , good...taped on starter , nothing ,
took plugs out and turned it over.. holy cow..fuel shot out 12 feet high out both sides , checked oil , yep mixed with fuel ... crap...!!! no play time today...

changed the oil

removed the carb thinking the float was stuck .. took it apart again every thing looked fine , washed it down , put back together ,
installed fuel lines , by time i got the linkage back on it was flooded to the point i could see fuel laying in the elbow.. crimped fuel line as fast as i could ..shut off the main fuel tank and cleaned up .
i cant do anything with the hoe until i fix this problem ....

i dont know how i ended up posting all those pics .. the ones of the front bucket are for another wtf post and how im going to try and fix it ..

after some research i think i lost the gasket that the electric fuel shut off pin sits in.. ?!?! not sure ..

If the float is not sticking the fuel shutoff pin is stuck open. Test the fuel shutoff and see if it works when the ignition is turned on and off. I always put an inline fuel shutoff valve on to keep the engine from flooding. in case the pin go's bad.

Is there a spring on the fuel shut off pin holding it closed when off ? ?

My electric fuel valve quit working so I put a manual one in line and the problem was solved.
