Dealer says my Draw Tite brake controller shorted and send voltage back through the multifunction turn signal swich and caused it to short out also. Replaced switch and now I have to get a new brake controller.

When it rains it pours. For a good middle of the road controller the Prodigy P3 is on the upper end of things it the basic class and runs about $140. http://www.etrailer.com/dept.aspx?f...-pm-Tekonsha&gclid=CPDxjOP_r6MCFUcz5wodmi_y4g

For about $350 you can get the best on the market right now, the Max Brake. http://www.maxbrake.com/ It is pressure sensitive and has trailer memory for something like 4 trailers. You set it once for each trailer and are done for life. Its full proportional to the brake system pressure of your truck. Really nice and works just like the new factory installed brake controllers from Ford, GM, and others. I have one in my 06 Powerstroke F-350 and its night and day from others I have used.

shorted out and sent voltage back thru the system?

Um.. I'd want a lil more info if I were you. I have 2 of those DT controllers.. have had them 9ys.. 4 wire hookup.. power, ground, brake line sense, and brake line power out.

when you use the panic button, it powers the brake line sense which in turn makes the truck brake lamps go on.. that's pretty common.

So... I wonder what the dealer was talking about. sounds like someone doesn't have a clue about electronics???

3 of the 4 lines are made to have voltage on them.. the 4th line is gound.

sumptin don't add up here... :(
