I helped a friend bring home an old 2N today, made in 1945. It's not running but was a couple of years ago. My question is there is a part missing but we don't know what it is. It mounts below the battery into the top of the transmission case. You would see it from the front looking below the battery. You can see into the top of the transmission case through about a 1" hole, and there are two bolts or stud right and left of the hole, maybe 1/2" in size. You can see the outline of a gasket where something was bolted there, sort of oval shaped. Does anybody know what bolted up in this spot? Sorry, I wish I had a picture.
