Price Check 955 TLB Price?

Found a 96’ John Deere 955 TLB with 1480 hrs on it. Runs good and everything seems tight and no leaks. The guy is asking $14,000 for it. I offer $12,000 and he came down to $13,000. Is this a good price? First time in the compact tractor market. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Boy I love those 855/955 tractors--just what a compact tractor looks like in my mind's eye... great tractors...

What engine does it have? HP? Hydro? mid PTO? Extra hyd. ports? Any damage? primary use(s)? 1st owner? Painted recently? Any other attachments?

Machinefinder will give you regional pricing for 955's on your search--list prices of course... have to consider the backhoe separately though--most won't have it included...

I was checking out an 855 (33hp... before buying new) with 600 hrs, MMM, FEL--they asked 12995--too steep, plus would have required bank financing...

Give a little more detail and someone may have some ideas on how that pricing seems...

The 955 had 33 gross HP and (if I recall) about 28 HP at the PTO. The 855 had 24 Gross/20 at the PTO. All the x55 series machines were hydros.

And I sure do agree with Brown90, the x55 Deeres were fine compacts.

As far as the $13K price, not unreasonable since the tractor has a backhoe. Hours are somewhat high though.

Thanks for the info guys, the tractor is in good shape plus it has a fork attachment with it. It runs great and every thing is tight. Seems to have been a well maintained machine.
