We got 3" of icy slop Friday; My wife had guests from down country ("all season tires") come to visit, via our 1/4 mile steep drive. Ground was too soft to plow without making a mess; I had put the Land-Pride rake on some weeks ago when we had washouts from rain. I angled it and hit the accelerator. Not only did it scooch off the snow to the gutter, it scratched up the hardback and mixed it with the remaining snow, making for pretty nice traction. Kinda like having a sanded drive. Nice.

I used to use a rake on the tractor before I got a plow truck. It wasn't bad on ice.
