Hopefully my last (pre-purchase!) questions. Still trying to make up my mind on the B7500 v. B2710. Leaning heavy towards the B7500 for price ($4600 less). A couple remaining questions:

Interested in widest and heaviest blade someone has successfully used on the B7500. Dealer recommended a 48", 275 lb Woods-assume he's the one to know. I trust his opinion, just hoping it may be 'by the manula'. Thinking I'll definitely want the 60" minimum (dealer recommended for the B2710)-plow snow and grade about 1 mile of road. Wondering if the B7500 will handle a 60", 500 lb blade (or a 72" !!)?? Do not want to jeopardize long term durability by going too big, though.

Second, what can a compact pull weight wise?? Will they handle a utility trailer (with car tires) loaded to 2-3000 lbs. Assume yes, but never seen this addressed.

Finally, which would be better on fairly hilly property from a mowing safety perspective; the B7500 or the B2710.

Once again, thanks in advance. Can't thank those who spend their time here helping others enough!

M - I hate to do this Buddy, but I think I am about to suggest you spend an extra $4600. By "blade" I assume you mean rear blade. If so, my 1700 handles a 5 footer just fine, and in snow could handle a 6 footer I am sure. Go with a5 footer for all around use, your machine will handle it fine. Here is where the 7500 might fall short - the maximun trailer weight for my 1700 is 2200 pounds, I assume it is the same or similar for the 7500. You mention 3000 pounds, which is off limits for the smaller machine, but likely OK for the bigger 2710. As far as hills, wider and heavier is better, so here the 2710 has a clear advantage. Since this may save your life, I say if hills are a factor, spend the $ for the 2710.

To clarify - I didn't spend the $ for the 2710, and as a result I can not mow my hilly property. I never intended to mow with my tractor, so for me it is a non-issue, but if I did intend to mow I would have to trade in for a wider heavier machine, or a real mowing machine like a Steiner. I f mowing is heavy on your to-do list, I would at the very least test drive the 7500 ON YOUR PROPERTY before I bought it. If I had tested my 1700 on my property, I would not have bought it if I wanted to mow with it.

M.Sullivan, I just 4 minutes ago posted my answer to this question on the CTB, and of course, I agree with PaulB.
