I was thinking a little more on the subject of chains and such. If you go to a chain system you can raise the front and lock it into place with the knob under the seat (if like mine) to keep the mower from droping at low idle, as you have said the it was heavy. In my case where I am clearing land, I need a top link in place so that I can raise the the whole unit incase I hit a rock or low stump or some thick stuff that boggs the unit down. Sorry no help on the clips...

Now that's what I was talking about. Then set the rear wheel where it is off the mower is off the ground enough it won't scalp it!!!!!

Like I said a pic's worth 1000 words...I'll be bush hoging again this weekend so I'll give this configuration a shot.
