What’s the purpose? Why so deep? Breaking hard pan? Any thoughts??

Looks like they are burying lots of good topsoil and covering it with sand.

From the description on the video: "Contractor Bijker Bulldozerverhuur of Rouveen, The Netherlands seen busy with deep ploughing using a Caterpillar D8H. D8E and D6R with a combined horsepower of 650HP! The plough is self-build and goes to two meters deep. The top layer soil is ploughed under and the lighter sand and peat soil is brought to the surface to make the land more suitable for other crops and easier to work on. "

So, is there an advantage of pulling with 3 mid sized dozers vs 1 large one?

Komatsu D575A, 1,150 HP, CAT D11, 900 to 1000 HP.

Now, I could imagine advantages of having a narrower width, and pulling the plow more centered behind the dozers.

Transporting a D11 between job sights would be very, very expensive vs smaller machine. D11 is intended to be assembled at a job sight and stay there most of its life.

D8 can usually be hauled down most main roads in USA not sure on load restrictions in the Netherlands

Unless they are plowing everywhere, then they just plow through the fence and keep going on the next property.

Many years ago in Wisconsin they were using 2 D9 cats to
pull a 6 foot plow to plow up a swamp and they were really
going deep not like it the above video
