I am in the middle of clearing a 1/2 acre of wooded, rocky land. After all trees are down and stumps removed, what is the best implement to use to level everything off. Keep in mind, this is very rocky soil. I have been using the loader to try and scrape it as flat as possible and it's been working ok, but there must be a better way.

I was thinking about a box blade, but wasn't sure how well it would work in the rocky soil.

My first purchase would be a landscape rake (York rake)with a heavy frame and heavy tines with gauge wheels. The heavy tines will pull light debris & rocks out of the soil rather than ride over them.
The gauge wheels will help to level and fill low spots.

Next a box blade with scarfier's to loosen and move soil around.
This is an excellent tool for ripping out roots & large rocks.

Disking the area is also a good way to level things out. I would go over it a few times and from different directions, also. I am not sure what to do if the rocks are good sized, though.
