Anyone here on at&t with a Nokia win phone that has cortana on it. Is win 8.1phone?

Have you noticed voice texts are not working if you are not in WiFi. It says can't connect to network. Ie if on 3/4g/lte itont work.

Also, hitting the dedicated search button on the phone that brings up cortana via bing search, that's not working on cellular data, only WiFi.

Just happened today, looks likennokia 9xx and up phones at least.

Art saying no idea, pointing at Nokia, Nokia being hush

Anyone seeing this or any clues?

Resolved now I guess.

Repeated calls with hangups to Nokia finally yielded results.

Though they claimed to have no knowledge of the problem, they did curiously know EXACTLY how to fix it.

Nokia has a history of pushing updates to phones that bricks em.

I presume this was another such update. While cortana is technically beta software, we are stuck with it as the default search button engine. Nokia seems to have a hard time figuring out how to patch phones they designed.

Back when the win 8.1 update rolled out, Nokia pushed it and bricked quite a few phones. They quickly back peddled and put out a pre 8.1 patch, that prep airs the phone to transition from 8 to 8.1 without becoming broke. Presumably the pre patch did things like disable power management whi CH, when in effect, blocks background tasks.. etc.. unofficially, Nokia replaced quite a few spendy smart phones when that patch rolled out.

Wish their software engineers would talk with their hardware engineers before hitting the big red button....
