Tractor
tc29
I have the infamous tc29d with hst and super steer. My tractor cracked in half lift a load of dirt. It has 2000 hours. No loose bolts. I took it apart and welded it. It lasted for a couple months then cracked in a different spot. I’m forced to replace the housing but curious how everyone has reinforced their frame to prevent this from happening again. I do not use my tractor as a dozer and take care of it.

What is the material and what did you use to do the repair?

I had a TC33D and I always kept up on this known issue. I would inspect bolt torque and be a little careful with it. I never had a problem with it. I do remember hearing that the new replacement cases were heavier and stronger though.

The TC45DA has a support that goes from the rear loader mount to the rear axle housing. That support bar takes the stress off the cast housing.

You might be able to fabricate something similar for your TC29.

I just looked on tractor house and the TC29 tractors with backhoes have a subframe that might be a good starting point.
