My steering free spins to right. Only grabs to left. Is it my geers

Check for stability of the steering column. If it's a bit free to move at the steering box end it may not be engaging properly.

No doubt something broke or became disconnected but
it will help if we know the model number.

Maybe the OP is talking about the LT1050? Check the steering gear/rack.

It may be only the lower bushing that supports the steering shaft. Remove the deck for access. When inspecting the gears check for wear in the support plate where the bushing rests.

Here's a diagram for the lt1050. Check for broken teeth on part 10.

Part 11 and 17 regularly need to be replaced. My mother has an LT1050 and I try to keep it going.

The repair vids all seem to point to part 19. Which is a guide sleeve for the steering wheel shaft.
