Hi all, had a water pump fail and the fan wobbled & dig into the radiator and chewed up the leading edges. Anyone ever tried to trim the edges back instead of replacing the fan? Wondering how much that might affect the cooling. Thanks for your thoughts.

Penny wise, pound foolish? You surely can trim the plastic fan. Better yet, just toss it in the garbage. BUT - the fan is your first front to avoid overheating. Doing either would not be my advisce. For my nickel, I'd spring for a new fan blade.

i'd just replace the fan..... but it would need to be trimmed evenly on all blades.

I had a similar situation with a plastic fan. The ends got chewed up about 3 years ago. I'm still running it today without any harmful effects.
It is hard to tell, but your metal fan looks bent? That might create an off balance situation which could do some long term damage.
