I'm looking to maintain some logging roads and skid some firewood out of the woods, maybe even build up the low spots of the logging roads I have. Is a John Deere 1010 Dozer too small for anything but light dressing work or will it suffice?

Iwas thinking of something bigger like a 450, but the 1010 can be bought for cheap money from a firend that needs the cash.

I think if you can keep the old dozer running it should. Just don't think of it as a 450 or larger size. It'll do small stuff.

For what you said I think it will do fine. But like RobJ said dont think of it as a larger of a dozer.

That old dozer will do fine if you can keep her running. My father strated a full time logging/excavating business 44 years ago with a Case 310 dozer and a Case 310 loader. I'm sure that the same size JD will do all you need.
