Hi All,
I'm a newbe considering purchase of a Deutz-Allis 5215 HST compact tractor. 4wd, loader bucket, 361 hours, looks good, sounds good, everything works, no leaks. Only obvious problem is a huge dead area in the steering. Turning left you need to spin the steering wheel around more that a full rotation to the right before something "catches" & the wheels start to turn right. The problem appears to be in a box under the tractor. Anyone have any experience with this hassle? If I buy the thing & have to replace the box are they available? Is replacement a "shade tree mechanic" doable project? And finally, What is a 24 year old tractor like this worth?
Thanks,
Ron Komoroski
