Culprit in Mysterious Elk Deaths Found

It was from EHD; a virus transmitted by a biting midge fly that infects many different types of cervids (deer). My family raises whitetails and battle with this virus every summer. They are healthy one day, then dead the next. I read about this same story a few months ago and they were also pointing to EHD, this pond scum explantation is new to me.

Blue green algae has killed a number of dogs in our area because they swam in a pond/lake that was blooming.
