Tractor
Ford/3000
I have a 1969 Ford 3000 tractor, gasoline engine (158) with a blown engine, with a loader. Gasoline engine blocks are very difficult to locate and the cost to rebuild is costly. Will a 4630 201, non turbo, interchange in the tractor without too many modifications? Like front hydraulics for loader, power steering and hydraulic pump (rear hydraulics). Will the pumps interchange from the gasoline engine to the 4630 etc..

My brother has a slew of older Ford's but all diesel...

I'm not too up on numbers or years of thins but is your 3000 a 3 or 4 cylinder? If 3 cylinder I'm pretty sure you can go up to a 201 no problem as they're pretty much interchangeable from what I've read. He has 3, 4 and 6 cylinder variants that look near identical other than some different oil filters (canister or spin on) and one or two fuel filter cans and rotary versus inline fuel pumps...

I was pretty sure the blocks where the same from gas to diesel but mostly a piston change for the lower compression ratio.
