got another warm spell in late feb. put originalstarter back on after i tore the pull switch apart and soldered the battery cable bolt from the switch directly on the starter contact. i then wired in a solenoid and regular key ignition switch where the power on/off switch was. works great. i did notice that the starter from my 1950 c broomed up the teeth on the flywheel a bit after just a half dozen or so starts.although the starters look the same the bendix drives must be a bit different.i would reccomend caution to anyone swapping parts back and forth or buyiny parts tractors of different years. i was lucky not to have to run it long enough to wreck my flywheel or the starter off my c.
