This spring I purchased a new MF 1433V, and it is now time
for its first service. The book says to change the hydraulic
oil and filter, but none of the 3 MF dealers in the area
have the hydraulic filter. They can order it for $74. This
seems a little steep for a spin-on filter, anyone know if
this is correct ? (this is my first compact tractor) The
number I have is: 3607790M1 Thanks

Have you checked with your local NAPA parts dealer? They have an excellent cross reference system. I don't know about the 1433V, but they can get all the filters for my MF 230, air, oil, fuel, etc., and they are more reasonable than the MF dealer.

At a place called Jacks small Engines the price is $56.48. Here is the site address for the parts search. Just click on Massey Ferguson on the left side.

I have a MF 1250, but I haven't tried out a 1433 which has the same engine size. How do you like it and have you had any problems?

Thanks all for the suggestions. I think that since the
tractor was new this year that there are not too many
aftermarket filters out yet. Guess I will have to bite
the bullet and mailorder the filter. Anyone have any good/bad experience with Jacks?

As far as the tractor goes, I have no major complaints. I
have the Massey 1246 loader, and the only minor complaint
is that is a PITA to attach the hydraulic lines when
attaching/removing the loader. Seems they could have a
better job with the hoses. Kinda like the Deere SCV.
