I'm about to change out the Trans, Hydro and Diffy oils for the first time in my 640 Ford. Are there any tricks or techniques to use, or is it just straight ahead
drain and re-fill?

I'm also planning to flush the cooling system. Is it cool to use the Prestone Flush stuff on an Engine this old?

I sometimes add a gallon of diesel to the diffy, hyds and trans and then agitate a bit and then drain if i havn't owned the machine / don't know it's history.

then refill with either utf in the 3 rear sumps.. or aw32/46 inthe hyds ( or utf ).. and 80w90 gear oil in the trans and diffy.

hyds has a dipstick. trans level plug on right side, diffy has a level plug on left rear trumpet... or use standard amounts.. consult your service manual for fluid capacities.. it's listed under condensed service data in the front... trans/hyds/diffy

thanks as always, Soundguy...

I'll be on it this weekend...

any problems using Prestone coolant flush that you know of? I want to give
system a good flushing... Probably a couple with just water for a while.

should be ok... I've used plain vinegar in the past.. etc... the fresh water flush is good.. etc.
