Whats a good price for a 4700 w/ MFWD, HST and loader? and a 5210 MFWD and loader? Dealer is quoting about the same price for either, seems like the 5210 should cost a lot more.

TreeFarmer2,

If you have not done so already search the TBN website, especially under the JD pricing forum, and you should see a couple of threads about 4700 prices. If you search on my user name and 4700 you should get a few hits. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I seem to remember a couple of conversations about 5210 prices as well. The 5210 should cost quite a bit more than a 4700....

The John Deere web site as a configuration program that shows list prices for the 4000/5000/etc tractors. You can pick the exact features on the tractors in question and get a price quote. I wish I had that resource when I was buying. The program will show you the list price difference between the two tractors.

Good Luck...

Like Dan says, check JD Config. site for list pricing...

I think the HST on the 4700 would be the equalizer price wise against a CollarShift {assuming} on the 5210... {and the Twenty series being released...helps}

If you plan on lots of loader work, go with HST, otherwise constant direction/field work - the CollarShift.

Exactly what prices were you quoted from your dealer?

around $25K for the 4700 w/ a loader and a couple hundred more for the 5210 w/ loader. I guess the HST is driving the price up on the 4700.
