I did a 1600 hr maintenance today and took some pictures of my oil change system. I have a 55 gal drum set down the bank and under the tractor there is an old galvanized oil pan that I put a shower drain in the side of. The two are connected with 2" pvc and flexible couplings.
The oil fill spout on my tractor is in a terrible spot. It is very hard to get a small container in there and especially hard when it takes two 5 gal pails for a refill. So I set the pail up on my saw box shelf and use a jiggle syphon to syphon out the pail into the hydraulic/transmission tank. It is a little slow with 10W-30 oil but it works good. Gives me time to pick up my tools and mess and have a cup of coffee.
This is the jiggle syphon. A tube with a foot valve in one end. You stick the valve end in the pail and shake it up and down to fill the tube and start the syphon action.
When I am done I transfer the used oil into pails and bring them to the recycle center.
