JD 4310 Overheating

Thanks for the responses from everyone above! I will test the sensor resistance today. I was trying to get ahead of the game, and I already have a lovely water pump sitting in a box in the kitchen.

It would be good to know that the gauge is going to tell me when the system is about to actually overheat .

Yea let me know how it goes!!

I would not put a new water pump in.

Try the temp sensor first. Test as mentioned.

Then turn ignition on and hold the temp sensor wire on ground. Watch the temp gauge. It should be on full hot and flash the light (if there is one installed).

Check wiring, it might get some ground and show wrong temp. But since it seems a constant issue, I think it's just the sensor.
