755 threw a rod through the side of the block. (Still runs on 2)

Would appreciate any recommendations for sources of rebuilt engine/long block /short block.

are our small diesels not like the larger cousins?

ie braze up the hole, put a new linner in the block and your good to go?

ive seen guys "repair" fist sized holes in the sides of blocks of older big diesels.

Don't know if the cylinders are lined, but will find out when we tear it down, if not before. I've repaired holes with Marine Tex, and certainly a good guy with the right rod for cast can do it.
The reason for loking for a long block is because the rest of the engine is probably a bit tired.

Not sure if this'll help or not. A good listing of tractor salvage yards here.
