Kioti makes a Hemi???

Was surfin' the Daedong website and it appears that the engines they put in their tractors (i.e. Kioti) have hemispherical combustion chambers /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif. (Actually they say "spherical" on their website - but I figure that was a Korean/English nuance).

Is it common for most diesels to have this or is this something unique to Daedong? Just wonderin'....

Perkins has been doing it for years... along with Deere... (to the best of my knowledge at least since the 70's...)

On my lunch break now... will try to get more pictures later...

WOW! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif That's an interesting picture!!

When I read on Daedong's website "Spherical combustion chamber", I assumed that the "Hemi" was in the head (like the Chrysler Hemi of past) not in the piston itself. Course, never tore in to a Diesel motor before, so I'm sure there's lots of "wild" stuff I'm not aware of....
