Are you saying your PTO "BLEW APART" while using a 48" tiller and will cost $5,500 to fix?
If it is...that $UCKS!!!
I would think a 48" tiller would not be a problem on the 3030. I haven't used one but have read on this forum where other 3030 users run 5' tillers without a problem. I run a 6' RFM without any issues.
/ kubota b3030hts pto bolwes a part when useing rotiller 48in cost $5.500.00 to fix
looking at kubota website illustrated part list. *youch*. rear wheels removed, rear final drives removed, seat removed, darn near taking everything off rear end just to get to the PTO shaft and parts internally. and then cost of all the gaskets alone, plus labor to pull it all apart and put it back together.
if you have a cab. that most likely additional cost in labor uninstall and reinstalling it. just to get down to what is needed.
This is "after-the-fact"...but,
1. Did you have the slip-clutch properly adjusted prior to use with MFG suggested settings?
2. When the "squealing" happened, was the tiller jammed with a rock or something?
