I'm working on a Jacobsen turfcat 628D 4wd with a D1105 kubota that is overheating. Only 750 hours. The radiator is clear, fan belt tight, the thermostat was removed prior to my arrival, the coolant/water was replaced at 1/4 ratio. I can see at least some flow when I remove the radiator cap. There is significant corrosion on the waterpump blades but no wear. There is a significant amount of crud in the system but I don't see any blockage.
This thing goes from cold when cranked to 250 degrees in a matter of a few minutes even with the thermostat removed. I'm guessing "normal overhating" should take longer than that and maybe there is something wrong with the engine, not the cooling system.
The deck spindles turn freely and the hyd filter guage shows the filter is not clogged.
I think I've covered all the obvious causes. What should I do next?
Thanks in advance,
-Roland
