Noticed a clunk coming from left hand back axle/ hub area when rolling forward or backward in gear or in neutral. Sounds like a wound up heavy spring suddenly releasing. Tractor has been sitting for 2 months.

Check lug nuts/bolts. Believe it or not.

Embarrassing as it is, I too have seen loose wheel parts on tractors owned by some very savvy people. It happens.

Yep, figured it was.. Glad you got it fixed. No shame, better you find it now before the holes get egged out.:thumbsup:

Isn't it great when such an expensive sounding noise can be remedied so easily.

That, and the fact that a service call was NOT part of the solution, is the good news. Many folks have been billed for the pleasure of having simple stuff like this pointed out to them in person after refusing to believe the cause is so simple.
