HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- A 47-year-old Keel Mountain resident is in serious condition after a tractor accident Monday afternoon.

Don Webster, chief operating officer for HEMSI, said Ronald Dudley was thrown through the glass door of the John Deere tractor he was operating when it overturned.

The accident happened about 12:37 p.m. on Keel Mountain Road.

Dudley was thrown through the glass enclosure of the tractor and landed about 20 feet away, Webster said.

He was taken to Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI paramedics in serious condition.

Just tells you...use your seatbelt even in a cabbed tractor!

I agree with wearing seat belts, even in a tractor equipped with a cab. There are some that will object and regard this attitude as being a member of the "Safety Police", but wearing seat belts has been shown to be helpful in saving the operator from serious injury or even death. There have been quite a few posts here on TBN that depict the reduction of injuries involving tractor mishaps, if only the use of a seat belt was utilized. Sincerely wish that the operator survives and returns to living a normal life.
