I'm looking for a service/repair manual for a Massey Ferguson 254 made in Italy by Landini. It has a 152 Perkins Diesel but I don't know where the engine was built.

G'day Alan,
I appreciate your post was a few years ago . . . but did you find a good manual for your MF 254? I have the same machine but in Australia and need to do some quite serious maintenance and repairs, ie new clutch, new main rear seal and brakes overhaul. I did buy a manual from SSB but it is worse than useless. I have not seen a genuine one any where but they must exist. With best wishes, Chris

Chris,
I don't have an original shop manual. I'm sure there must be manuals somewhere, but hard to find. The manual I have with this tractor is only an owner's manual. Everything I do is trial and error; I take a lot of pictures during disassembly. I'm still very happy with this tractor's performance.

Thanks Alan, very good tip to take pics during disassembly. I have a parts book that gives me a pretty good idea of where I'm going but doesn't have things like torque settings. Regards, Chris

The original service, parts, operator's and transmission/steering service manuals are all still available from AGCO directly. The parts manual is around $50, the service manual around $25 and the tranny/steering service manual is $16 (left out the operator's manual since you have one).

Id buy these in a flash from Agco if I lived in the US Unfortunately they charge something like $140 just to post a DVD to Australia. The local authorised dealer was even worse, about $300 for the owners manual!

Oh well good excuse for another ski trip to Colorado...

I just looked at the U.S. Postal site, and they advertise a box with 20lb maximum weight as being around $80 to Australia. I didn't think to check the dimensions, but there's a good chance the manuals would all fit. If you went with the DVDs it would be less expenses because they have padded mailers that would work (think it said around $40). You could probably order them, and have them shipped to someone here, then they would just have to mail them to you....you could do something like a Paypal transfer to cover their expenses.
