MF GC1705
Besides the higher RPM to get the additional 2.5 HP, what is the difference between the GC1705 and the GC1715? (besides the $1000 price difference). Dealer says they are the same (but only has the GC1705 so that is what he is pushing). I swear the seat looks very different in the brochure for example, etc.)
Thx,

Besides 10% more HP, 1/2 Gallon Per Minute more Hydraulics 6.8 GPM versus 6.3, Arm Rest Standard Equipment & Rear Worklight Standard on the GC1715.

There are a few internal gearing differences to complement the additional HP, plus different fuel shims in the pump to get more flow to make the additional power.

Unless your running ground engaging equipment, you will never notice the lack of 2.5 HP. The other amenities are the main difference.

I can tell you that there is a difference in actual lifting on the gc1715 at 2600 rpm and at 3000 rpm which is also the difference in rpm of the gc1705 and gc1715.

I fully understand the newer seat changes in the gc1705 get it closer to the gc1715 seat. But I can tell on that on the gc1715 you can repositioning the seat brackets (without modifications, just relocating the mounting bolts. . . To gain several inches of legroom (a 6 foot 5 inch guy was comfortable on my unit at 300 lbs. Yet same close spacing for seat if desired.

When I bought in 2015 I was concerned about the cost addition and within 4 weeks I was pleased I got the gc1715.

Also I can operate loader as mulcher mower deck at 2000 rpm or 2500 rpm extremely effectively and 3000 is for special needs. And I compared fuel consumption with someone with a gc1705 and they were virtually identical fuel usage (which is very good and highly efficient).

One last thing. My tractor sits outside including Wisconsin winters. Just 2 days ago I started it up after 2 weeks of no use in 8 degree weather. . . Turned the key to glow plus for 5 seconds and turned to starter and a single 6 spin start without even using my block heater.

Thanks for the input. Made the decision today. Price and a good deal won out. Big west coast dealer has no more GC1715s until the 2019's arrive in March with a much higher list price, and was able to to make a deal to clear out a 2018 GC1705.

I think you will be pleased with it. My GC1710 does a ton of work for me and I am pleased with its capabilities. Was just using it yesterday (and today) planting some fruit trees.

I have the 1705 and I have done a lot with it. Seeded my yard, tilled my garden. move trees, cut up trees, move snow, move dirt and stone, box blade driveway. The 1705 is capable and so im sure the 1715 is a bit better
