Own a 4950 2wd and just when least expected I experience a mystery neutral. Always happens nose down when clutch is engaged. Once in GO NOWHERE situation I can hear/feel the clutch ingage - PTO operates normal - can run through all gears and ranges. THEN after shutdown and substantial chain hoisting something meshes and I'm on the way. Non hydrostatic trans - always clean full fluids - never abused.

Manual gives no clue - trans? differentiol?
Three dealers within 100 miles of STUCK indicate "exploratory" operation required - trans out.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like to me something in the tranny is slipping out of place (like a gear) when your in a nose down attitude. This could be a very interesting troubleshooting problem. May turn out to be a broken retainer clip.

Sounds like a broken detent spring... I would be real carful running it... Its probley runnung on the edge of a gear and it would not take much to strip a few teeth....
