Got a new 1635 and noticed the glow plug light stays on for a long time...

I got out the stopwatch...

Weather was mid 70's

At 29 seconds, the light went out and started...light came back on and was on until 01:04...

It didn't start any different than starting it after 10 seconds....

Is this normal?

Thx!

My 2660 keeps the light on for about a minute after every start warm or cold

Mine takes about 20 seconds as well, but it will start right up after about 10

The operating manual for my 3650 mentions that over 70 degrees just start it up, below 70 let the pre heater do it's thing. If over 70 and you just go to start, the glow plug light will stay on for a while... seems like it goes through a cycle no matter what by design. I thought this was odd too.

Agree with the glow plug light oddity. My diesel truck lights go out, letting me know the heat cycle is done and ready to go. I was kinda waiting for the same thong the first few starts of my tractor but I would be waiting for a long time if I tried that.
Edit: After reading the manual again today it says to leave the key turned forward until the glow plug light turns off at temps under 70f. Be interesting to see how long that takes.
