I plan to add a nice retractable tonneau cover, maybe a roll-n-lock, sometime soon. I've got a different brand on my old F150 and love it. I've never compared mpg when open/closed but claims are up to a 10% improvement.

KiotiKowboy, that's a nice truck! (for a Chevy anyway :)) You definitely have a 'looker!'

Was out of town and thus the late reply.

One thing I like about Table Rock and Beaver is that they are Corp of Engineering lakes. This keeps it from being so commercialized and preserves the shoreline and views. I have heard the opposite of Lake of the Ozarks...but...never been there.

I have a fish and ski. My boat has to fish first and then handle passengers and tow stuff second. My neighbor has a 26 foot Cobalt. Super nice boat that he leaves on a lift at Table Rock. I wouldn't want to tow it back and forth every trip!

Yes, Lake of the Ozarks is extremely commercialized and packed with the shoreline covered with houses, cabins, and condos! I refuse to go on that lake on the weekend. We stayed at a campground just a bit below the dam last weekend and it was nice, but the lake is just too crowded. The CoE lakes are much better for the same reasons you mentioned. I'm a huge fan of Table Rock due to it's crystal clear water and smaller crowds. Lake Taneycomo just below it is nice if you like to trout fish. Branson is a bit too touristy for my likes though.

Nice looking truck! Does it have a leveling kit? 35" tires?

Thanks :) Yes, it has the leveling kit. Replaced the stock 18 inch wheels with Fuel Krank D517 20x9 with 33" tires.

This is my first Chevy truck. I've had Fords my whole life, mostly Broncos and a few F150s along the way. There is just no dispute the Ford F150 is one of the best vehicles manufactured. Having said that, I wanted to move up to a 3/4 ton. While the Ford 250 is a quality truck, it's about as stylish as a box of cereal. Since this is my ride, and hopefully not so much a working truck, I wanted something with more style. Sure, the Chevy has a lot of capability but I hope it rarely carries more than groceries and my 6 dogs :)

You are right about the Superduty's. I've been driving them since 1999 and now the style does seem a bit dated. Every other brand has changed and it is making them look a little old. Both the Chevy and Ford are incredible trucks though compared to the not so distant past.

I do like those wheels!

Definitely agree on the outdated look of the SuperDuty! Can't wait to see what Ford has in store for them for the completely new truck for the '17 model year. I should be ready for a new one in about '18 or '19 so it should work out well for me! :)

What's a man to do? The wife insisted I should have a new truck, so I had no choice but to say - Anything to make you happy honey :)

This one is just for driving up to the local Sonic and getting a Coke. I kept the old 2001 F150 for the farm :)

That's an awesome looking truck. Congratulations!

I would wear the paint off trying to keep that thing clean.

I took it for a spin this afternoon. By watching the mpg calculations on the dash, and driving as best I could to maximize the mpg, I was able to average 14.2 for a trip of about 50 miles. Too much effort for everyday driving - but, decent mileage can be achieved.

If you are looking for a quiet lake, you need to look at:

http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Portals/29/docs/lakesites/pomme/Lake Brochure.pdf

With lake of the Ozarks to the east, Truman to the North, Stockton to the west, and Table Rock, Bull Shoals & Taneycomo to
the South, few people go to Pomme de Terre. No go cart tracks, no miniature golf, no zip lines. Nice and quiet.

This photo was taken on my 7.5 acres there:

Oh, nice truck. Way outa my league, though.
