rollers pretty worn, will they function ok?

I suppose for grass don't even really need rollers and I plan on a lot of timothy but might do some alfalfa mix too. (horse hay mostly)

guys says the wobble box is tight and everything in good working order, he mentioned the hold downs need replaced soon. Easy to see in the pictures. Has one new tire, the other "looks" ok.

I dunno, little older than I was after but it might get me a few years doing 40 acres or so huh?


I've got a *lot* to deprecate this next 5 years, could almost use some bigger purchases to keep uncle sam out of my pocket once all this stuff falls off.

If you think you are going to make "horse hay", you need to make dry, dust-free hay. In the humid climate I live in, that machine would be useless for conditioning mixed dry hay, and nearly so for making straight grass. I know little about weather in WA except it varies greatly from west to east. Unless you live where the weather is dry & sunny for 5-7 days at a time, look for a better machine.

I found a NH 469 (I think) with good rollers for a fair deal, 9 footer.
not fancy but it'll get me going.

Those rollers are going to completely fly to pieces when you least expect it. It'll set you back more than the mower is worth, probably over $4K just for the rollers. New rollers for the Kuhn here were going to be $4400 plus labor and freight.
