oil bath capacity 65+ 4000 diesel

I'll apologize if I should have found this - I've not been very successful with the searches.

I'm doing neglected maintenance after getting my 4000 back with a beautiful rebuilt fuel pump. One thing is to clean the air cleaner. Neither the owner's manual nor the factory service manual indicate how much oil to add after cleaning, though they do state to be careful not to overfill. I have it apart and clean, and there is no fill line marked as such.

Any help??

My 4000 has a fill line aout an inch from the top.

Thank you for the quick reply. When I took mine apart to clean it, the oil did not cover the "pie pan" in the bottom of the container. Mine has that line near the top, but the mechanic I've talked with about it says the fill line should be close to the bottom, rather than to the top. Your answer makes sense.
