I have found that i have raw fuel coming out of exhast at high rpm. could this be caused by incorect timing? the fumes burns my eyes.any where from 2400 rpms up to max rpms of 2800
frank, this could be timing,or a bad injector tip,or incorrect compression.you didn't say how the engine was running overall,if the engine is running ok i would say you have a injector overfueling.a timing problem would probably cause the engine to run rough.
If you are going to pull the injectors for a compression check, while you have them out take 'em to a fuel injection specialist shop. Have them check the injectors for spray pattern and pressure settings.
If there isn't one listed in your phone book (under fuel injection) call a heavy duty diesel truck/engine repair shop and see who they recommend.
As stated by dieseldoc, the problem you describe could be a faulty injector(s).
Frank, how about an update? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Did you discover the cause of the extra fuel? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Or, any discoveries about what isn't causing it? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
